Gratitude Journal: Week 3 - We’re home!

We are home! It was a grueling trip, but about as hassle-free as these things ever get. The kids did fine on the flight, and jet lag, at least on our first night home, didn’t seem too bad. The kids passed out from exhaustion by six, and despite keeping me up for a couple of hours during the night, they got a decent night’s sleep (I’ve had WAAAAAAAY worse). Tonight, on our second night home, they fell asleep at nine - maybe they’ll sleep like normal people tonight (hey, a gal can dream, right?). It’s good to be home, although I’m suddenly overwhelmed with all the projects I’d like to get done before R. gets home. I’m happy to be seeing good friends here, and the kids are happy to see their toys again - the boys are particularly wound up about their bicycles.

All in all, I’m in a generally grateful mood. But if I have to narrow it down, I’d say I’m most gratefulĀ for my dad, who came back to Germany to help me on this trip, and who I owe way more quality time than he got last visit, for FAA approved carseats, and for Benadryl. Amen.
